Lovers Point

Lovers Point is a park located at the bottom of 17 Street in the Pacific Grover area of the Monterey Peninsula. The park is nearly four and a half acres in size and has a variety of recreation opportunities including swimming, fishing, picnicking, surfing, and a variety of other water sports. The park features a lawn area which is great for barbecuing and picnics, as well as a volleyball court and a swimming pool specifically designed for small children. There are beaches and rocky areas that are popular spots for the surfers. The concrete pier is used for fishing and nearby is a snack bar and a restaurant. While the park is a great destination for recreation and family fun, it is also a popular wedding venue. The Lovers Point Feast of Lanterns pageant is held in the park and every year there is a fireworks celebration. The park also welcomes scuba divers, windsurfing enthusiasts and those interested in wildlife viewing and nature hikes. There is ample parking at the park with room enough for bus and RV parking. Bike rental is available and there are restrooms onsite. Lodging space is available at the Lovers Point Inn, adjacent to the park. The Inn offers three floors of space and provides cable television, telephones and peaceful accommodations for those with a desire to stay near the park. Four blocks away is the Museum of Natural History.
