June Mountain


June Mountain is a ski resort on the eastern side of Yosemite National Forest. The resort is adjacent to June Lake, which is just south of the larger Mono Lake.

June Mountain ski resort averages 250 inches of snowfall per year with a ski season generally running from December through April. Skiers will find 12 ski lifts at the resort with 35 official trails. The vertical descent of 2600 feet will please skiers of all levels. The resort resides on two summits June Summit and Rainbow Summit. June Summit, the higher of the two, reaches 10,174 at its peak.

Advanced skiers might enjoy a backcountry guided tour with Sierra Mountain Guides, naturalist tours, and race training. Beginners can take lessons at the ski resort as well. Other services include dining, a sport shop, and ski rentals. The trails also open during the summer for hiking, biking, and other activities such as horseshoes, volleyball, and ladder ball.

Roughly 300 miles from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, this ski resort attracts adventure seekers from throughout the area. In the area nearby, visitors can also enjoy Yosemite Village at Yosemite National Park, Olmsted Point, Consolidated Gold Mine, Fresno Flats Historic Village & Park, and numerous campgrounds.
