Fremont Theater

Fremont Theater is a multiplex cinema located on Monterey Street in downtown San Luis Obispo, California and is approximately 40 minutes drive from Santa Maria. The original main theater was built in 1940 and is operated by the independent chain 'The Movie Experience'. The chain also has theatres at Murrieta, Temecula and Blue Jay/Lake Arrowhead.

The main theater has one screen and adjacent to this is another building with three more screens giving an overall seating capacity of 1,100. Group activity tickets can be purchased in blocks of 25 or more from the box office. However, these are not valid for films designated as Special Engagements, IMAX features and over 21 screenings. Movie fans can enjoy new releases here as well as classic films and the theater is also used for the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

Screening Room Classics are some older films shown in their original format on the big screen here and are chosen by customers of the theater. In addition to this the Freemont Theater has a program called SLO Rewind, where cult films are shown on the big screen. The theater is also available for corporate meetings, parties or other special events
