El Pescador State Beach

El Pescador State Beach is one option for visitors to Malibu, California. Malibu is well known for its beaches that are very sandy, crowded, and fun for sunbathers and surfers. El Pescador means "The Fisherman" in Spanish. The beach is most popular for surfing and body boarding, though sunbathers and picnic crowds will also show up on the weekends. Waves at El Pescador are rather high and frequent in the summer and autumn months. Diving is also possible on the beach for those who want to see the kelp beds and sea life. The beds attract sea otters, seals, and sea lions, along with smaller critters like lobster and crabs.

The state beach is open 8am to sunset. Parking is $2 with a pay meter box. Some free parking along the PCH can be found, though it is very limited. No food can be found on the beach, requiring guests to bring their own. Portable restrooms are near the parking lot. A lifeguard is only on duty at certain times of the year. Like other smaller Malibu Beaches there is no tower. To get to El Pescador State Beach visitors can go to 32860 Pacific Coast Highway at Decker Canyon.
