China Camp State Park

Marin County California is home to the China Camp State Park located at 101 Peacock Gap Trail in San Rafael, California. There are a number of facilities and amenities in and around the park that make it an ideal place to visit. In the 1880's there was a shrimp fishing village where the park is now located.

The campground at the park is open all week long. Back Ranch Meadows sites can be served. Tent camping is the only form allowed on the walk-in sites. Equipment must be carried by hand to campsites from their cars lot which is anywhere from fifty to three hundred yards away. April through October the campsites can be reserved; they are subject to availability during the months of November to March. Visitors should check in from 2pm on; check time is at noon.

China Camp State Park offers single night camping for RV's with holding tanks for grey water. The RVs can check in at six in the afternoon and check out at nine at night. Those traveling to the area using a bicycle or on foot can use the Hike and Bike area. There is a museum at the China Camp Village that describes that early settlement of the area.
