Blackhawk Museum

The Blackhawk Museum in Danville, California is an auto museum housing old and historic cars. The museum is roughly an hour from San Francisco, where one can find 70,000 square feet of exhibit space filled with cars, automotive reference library, galleries, and a museum store. They also have a space for special events, board room, and a new kitchen. The museum was founded in 1988 when the architecturally interesting building was created to look like a "jewel box" of sorts.

At the time two 2,100 square foot galleries existed, which have now become larger. There are about 90 cars on display at the museum. These cars have been loaned from several parts of the world, so that visitors can share in their automotive obsessions. Some of the cars are often featured at Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance before they arrive at the museum. Limos, an airline coupe, Bizzarrini, Spyder, and Figoni have been on display at the museum. Hours of operation are 10am to 5pm Wednesday through Sunday. Parking can be found onsite. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children, students, and seniors. Anyone under 6 can obtain free admission. There is a docent led public tour for an hour, included in admission.
