Bellwether Farms


Bellwether Farms is the number one farm in America creating cheese in an artisan method, the farm is located in Petaluma Sonoma County, California. The farm began after Cindy Callahan purchased sheep to keep the grass in their pastures under control. This then led to the family creating a revival in cheese creation.

The family members believe that this process has been tapped into them, and creating the cheeses feels more like a creative process rather then a labor intense process. They use the highest quality milk available to create the best cheeses this is the farms philosophy.

The cheeses produced at the farm include Carmody and Fromage Blanc, from cheeses that are semi-hard to smooth cheeses like butter. The cheeses from Bellweather Farms are regularly featured in top selling publications such as Martha Stewart and The New York Times as well as being used by fine chefs in well known restaurants across America.

Visitors to the farm are able to find out all about cheese, such as how it is made and the best way to serve it. Visitors are also able to purchase cheese from the farm along with gift packages and accessories, these purchases will help support the farm also. If visitors wish they can also join the farms cheese club and have high quality cheese delivered to their door each quarter.
