Arroyo Burro County Beach Park

Arroyo Burro County Beach Park is located in Santa Barbara; the locals call the area Hendry's Beach. Visitors are welcome to the area to meet for breakfast, have a cocktail at sunset, walk the sandy shore, fish and ride the wild surf.

The beach is known for the sandy beach, surfing and swimming areas, surf fishing and picnics and games on the cool grassy areas. There are BBQ grills, Beach Access, Picnic Tables, Equestrian Trails, Group Picnic Areas that can be reserved, a restaurant and snack facility and restrooms.

Arroyo Burro County Beach is located 5 miles west of the city of Santa Barbara on Cliff Drive near Hope Ranch. It is a secluded beach with towering cliffs and a coastline that curves. There is 600 feet of sandy beach area with tide pools that make a nice spot for kids to explore beach life.

The beach park is one of the rare beaches in Southern California where dogs are permitted off-leash. They need to be on a leash in the parking lot and on the bathing beach, once past Arroyo Burro Slough, the animals can run free and play in the water and the sand. The only downfall of this area is that the part of the beach where dogs are allowed gets smaller in size dramatically when the tide is high.
