Aerospace Museum of California

Newly opened 2007, the Aerospace Museum of California with its pavilion and air park has already been visited by more than a quarter million guests. On display is a unique collection of 40 military and civilian aircraft, along with fifteen restored engines. Included here are a 1932 Curtiss-Wright "speed wing" biplane, an A-10 Warthog, and the J-58 jet engine that took the SR-71 Blackbird to triple the speed of sound. Also on exhibit is the Coast Guard art collection, plus models of pre-World War I planes and engines.

The Aerospace Museum of California is home to the McClellan Air Force Base historical archives. It conducts various educational programs, such as continuing education teacher workshops that have been twice recognized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Also on the premises is the Aerospace Learning Center, which lets visitors "fly" non-motion flight simulators or ride in a motion-ride simulator. The most recent addition to the museum's collection is an exhibit of Star Trek memorabilia, which was formerly part of the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas.

The Aerospace Museum of California is located at 3200 Freedom Park Drive, North Highlands, California 95660. General admission prices are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (65+) and youth (13~18), and $5 for children (6~12).
